Our RFoG micronode delivers the same services as an DOCSIS network, with the added benefit of improved noise performance and increased usable RF spectrum in both the downstream and return-path directions.
PL10-6A: RFoG Micronode with XGSPON & GPON Pass-Through
The RF over Glass (RFoG) solution for converged 10G-PON and DOCSIS 3.1 networks, ensuring smooth evolution to ultra-broadband.
- Universal PON Coexistence: This rfog micronode has an integrated high-isolation WDM filter that transparently passes both GPON (1490/1310nm) and XGSPON (1577/1270nm) signals to the ONU.
- DOCSIS 3.1 Full Spectrum: Optimized for next-gen performance with a working bandwidth up to 1218MHz, providing a platform for video, voice, and high-speed data delivery.
- SCTE 174 Compliant: Enabled with Burst Mode to suppress upstream noise and reduce OBI (Optical Beat Interference) in dense FTTH network.
- High-Gain RF Output: Delivers a stabilized output level of up to 96dBµV via integrated Optical AGC (-6 to +2dBm), maintaining signal integrity across variable fiber link budgets.
- Diplex Filter Splits: Supports global operator standards with multiple frequency split options, including 42/54MHz, 65/86MHz, and 85/105MHz … for upstream/downstream flexibility.
Technical FAQ: PL10-6A RFoG Micronode
Q1: How does this rfog micronode support both GPON and 10G-PON?
A: The PL10-6A rfog micronode is equipped with a tri-wavelength WDM filter. It extracts the 1550nm CATV signal for RF conversion while passing the 1260-1360nm and 1480-1580nm spectrums (covering both GPON and XGSPON wavelengths) to the PON port with ultra-low insertion loss (≤1.5dB).
Q2: What is the benefit of the -20dB RF test port for technicians?
A: The integrated -20dB RF test port allows for real-time signal verification without disconnecting the subscriber’s home network. Technicians can measure the forward output level and tilt, ensuring the 1.2GHz DOCSIS 3.1 signals are perfectly balanced at the entry point.
Q3: How does Burst Mode reduce OBI in 10G-PON overlay networks?
A: By using a fast-response laser driver (Rise/Fall time ≤1.6ms), the rfog micronode only activates its return transmitter when the cable modem sends a data burst. This drastically reduces the number of active lasers on the return fiber, which is critical for preventing OBI in high-split ratio XGSPON environments.
