Our RFoG ONU delivers the same services as an DOCSIS network, with the added benefit of improved noise performance and increased usable RF spectrum in both the downstream and return-path directions.
PL10-3A: Professional RFoG ONU for DOCSIS 3.1 & SCTE 174 Networks
The high-performance RF over Glass (RFoG) solution designed to deliver upstream and downstream DOCSIS, voice, and video over FTTx architectures.
- SCTE 174 Compliant: Fully adheres to the SCTE 174 2010 standard, ensuring seamless interoperability in existing Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) and FTTB infrastructures.
- DOCSIS 3.1 Bandwidth: Features an extended frequency range up to 1218MHz, providing the necessary spectrum for high-speed DOCSIS 3.1 data services and ultra-HD CATV broadcasting.
- Advanced Burst Mode Operation: Engineered with intelligent Burst Mode technology, the upstream transmitter only activates when data is present, significantly reducing network noise and OBI (Optical Beat Interference).
- AGC & Testing: Includes an integrated Optical AGC (-6 to +2dBm) for stable RF output and a -20dB RF test port for non-disruptive on-site signal verification.
- Flexible Frequency Splitting: Supports multiple diplex filter options (42/54MHz, 65/86MHz, 85/105MHz) to meet specific regional operator requirements globally.
Technical FAQ: PL10-3A RFoG ONU
Q1: How does the RFoG ONU handle OBI in multi-user environments?
A: The PL10-3A RFoG ONU utilizes precise Burst Mode timing and high-quality DFB lasers (available in CWDM wavelengths). By only transmitting upstream signals when the cable modem is active, it minimizes the probability of multiple lasers hitting the receiver simultaneously, effectively mitigating Optical Beat Interference (OBI).
Q2: What is the purpose of the 1V/mW monitor voltage port?
A: To simplify maintenance, the PL10-3A includes a dedicated Input Optical Power Test Port. It provides a linear DC voltage output (1V per 1mW), allowing technicians to accurately measure the incoming 1550nm optical power with a standard multimeter without disconnecting the fiber link.
Q3: Can this RFoG ONU coexist with GPON or XGSPON services?
A: Yes. The PL10-3A is equipped with an internal WDM filter and a PON Pass port (1280~1500nm). This allows the device to transparently pass GPON or XGSPON data to a co-located ONU, enabling the delivery of both DOCSIS RF services and high-speed fiber broadband over a single fiber strand.
