Technical FAQ: PL10-3B RFoG Micro Node
Q1: When should I use the Burst Mode switch on the rfog micro node?
A: Burst Mode is essential for suppressing network noise and mitigating OBI (Optical Beat Interference) in multi-user environments. However, for certain network diagnostics or specific legacy CMTS environments, the PL10-3B rfog micro node allows you to switch to Continuous Mode (No Burst) via the physical button, providing unparalleled field flexibility.
Q2: How does the PL10-3B support DOCSIS 3.1 ?
A: Unlike standard 1GHz nodes, the PL10-3B is designed with an extended 1218MHz spectrum. This high-frequency capacity, combined with its low noise floor (Equivalent Noise Input <7 pA/√Hz), makes it the ideal platform for operators migrating to DOCSIS 3.1 without replacing their FTTH terminal infrastructure.
Q3: Can the RF output level be adjusted for different cable lengths?
A: Yes. The node features an Adjustable Slope (up to 5dB) and AGC-controlled output. Technicians can use the -20dB test port to verify signal strength at the subscriber’s home and ensure that the RF levels at the TV set or Cable Modem are perfectly balanced regardless of internal wiring loss.
