Product Overview
The PL150D-1 FTTH CATV optical receiver is compact in size and suitable for FTTH (Fiber To The Home) networks. PL150D-1 operates between 1200-1650nm. PL150D-2 includes a built-in PON filter that blocks 1310nm and 1490nm wavelengths while allowing 1550nm optical signals to be converted to RF CATV signals. The PL150D-1 CATV optical receiver is a new type of micro optical receiver featuring an LED optical power indication.

PL150D-1: The Reliable CATV Optical Receiver
If you’re tired of micro-nodes that overheat or lose signal when the fiber bends slightly, the PL150D-1 is your solution. We designed this CATV optical receiver to be small enough to hide behind a TV, but tough enough to handle industrial-strength continuous operation.
Because of the Optical AGC (Automatic Gain Control). In real-world FTTH drops, optical power isn’t always perfect. Our AGC circuit keeps your RF output rock-solid between -10 and 0dBm input, meaning no more truck rolls for “snowy pictures” when the link budget shifts. For those running triple-play setups, the PL150D-2 variant comes with a built-in WDM filter to keep 1310/1490nm data noise far away from your 1550nm video signal.
- No-Guesswork Monitoring: A clear LED optical indicator lets your technicians (or even the end-user) know instantly if the fiber link is active and healthy.
- High-Sensitivity Tech: Built with a high-performance receiver tube that delivers a clean 80dBµV output even in low-light conditions.
- Precision Balancing: The onboard adjustable attenuator (0~-15dB) gives you total control over the signal level to match the subscriber’s home wiring.
- Eco-Efficiency: Running at just 1.2W, it stays cool to the touch and reduces the long-term Opex for massive network rollouts.
FAQ on FTTH CATV Optical Receiver
Q1: Does this CATV optical receiver work with my existing GPON OLT?
A: Absolutely. While the PL150D-1 is a wide-band receiver (1100-1650nm), it’s in 1550nm overlay systems. If you’re running data on 1490nm, we recommend the PL150D-2 with built-in WDM to ensure zero interference between your internet and TV services. PL150D-3 is the version that is for GPON pass through.
Q2: Is 80dBµV output enough for a typical house?
A: For most single-family homes, 80dBµV is enough. It’s a telecom-standard level that provides enough headroom to go through a 2-way or 4-way splitter without needing an extra drop amplifier.
Q3: How stable is the AGC in extreme cold or heat?
A: We use excellent components rated for -10 to +50°C. The non-stop reliability of our AGC means your output stability stays within ±1.0dB, whether it’s summer or winter.
Running a XGS-PON or 10G-PON Network?
You’ll need a receiver that can handle more than just standard wavelengths. Check out our EDFA with WDM-Integrated Solutions to your triple-play deployment.
