What is APC Mode of PL2000H CATV EDFA Amplifier?

What is APC mode?

The APC mode is the default system control mode of PL2000H CATV EDFA. APC means Automatic Power Control that is established and maintained by the output power,  regardless of changes in the input signal and temperature. PL2000H automatically adjusts the current laser diode pumping to ensure stabilization of the desired output power measured by an internal sensor.

How to enter APC mode?

This menu appears when tapping “Setup” from the main menu and is designed to select the operation control mode (APC, ACC and AGC) of PL2000H CATV EDFA Amplifier, Tap “APC” button to enter “APC” mode

The output power value appears at the top of the menu, as shown in its value. The desired value is set by using the touch keyboard to input and then save the LCD as follows:

What is the adjustable range of APC mode?

System default mode is APC mode that is easy to operate for basic user. Click “Port Output Power” to set new output power value. The new value of output power is adjustable, the adjustable range is -10 ~ 0.5dBm. For example, when customer ordered a 16×19 high power EDFA (16 ports with 19dBm per port). The adjustable range is from 9 to 19.5dBm

Note 1: The desired value of output power can not be higher than the value of PL2000H CATV EDFA Amplifier maximum Output power, Otherwise, the desired value is not activated.

Note 2: The output power is turned to 0 at APC mode to input 0 and save it.
