- Weatherproof Reliability: Encased in a heavy-duty aluminum alloy housing, the PL780A is engineered for strand or pedestal installation with superior heat dissipation.
- High RF Output Level: Delivers a robust 104dBµV output across two ports, ensuring strong signal delivery for building-wide coaxial distribution.
- Precision Optical AGC: Integrated Automatic Gain Control (-7 to +2dBm) maintains consistent output levels even as fiber link loss fluctuates.
- Flexible Power Options: Supports both 60VAC line power and 220VAC mains power, adaptable to different local utility standards and HFC plant designs.
- Lightning Protection: Built-in 5KV surge protection ensures the internal circuitry remains safe during electrical storms and power surges.
Technical FAQ: PL780A Outdoor Optical Node
Q1: What makes the PL780A suitable for outdoor strand installation?
A: The PL780A outdoor optical node features a specialized weatherproof casing with an IP-rated seal and 5KV lightning resistance. It is specifically built to withstand extreme temperature ranges from -40℃ to +60℃, making it a “field-proven” solution for year-round outdoor operation.
Q2: Can I adjust the signal balance directly in the field?
A: Yes. The node includes internal adjustable ATT (0~20dB) and EQ (0~20dB) controls. This allows technicians to fine-tune the output slope and level on-site to compensate for cable loss and ensure perfect signal quality at the subscriber end.
Q3: How many output ports does this node provide?
A: The PL780A is a two-output port node. This design allows you to split the high-level RF signal to two different directions or buildings, significantly lowering the “cost-per-user” for FTTB deployments.
