PL20-3A: High-Performance 1.2GHz RFoG Optical Node for MDU Applications
A carrier-grade RFoG terminal delivering high-power RF output and digital precision for modern FTTB and DOCSIS 3.1 infrastructure.
- DOCSIS 3.1 Full Spectrum: Engineered to support the evolving cable landscape, this rfog optical node provides a massive 1218MHz (1.2GHz) bandwidth, ensuring zero bottlenecks for 4K video and multi-gigabit data services.
- Advanced Digital Control: Moving beyond legacy analog trimmers, the PL20-3A features digital control buttons for precise gain and slope adjustments, significantly improving installation accuracy and long-term stability.
- SCTE 174 Standardized: Fully compliant with SCTE 174 2010 protocols, including specialized Burst Mode upstream transmission to eliminate Optical Beat Interference (OBI) in shared fiber environments.
- MDU-Strength Output: Delivers a stabilized RF output level of up to 112dBµV via an integrated Optical AGC (-6 to +2dBm), providing enough power to feed multiple subscribers from a single floor-mounted node.
- Flexible Upstream Splits: Offers global compatibility with multiple diplex filter options (42/54MHz, 65/86MHz, or 85/105MHz) to match existing CMTS and return path headend configurations.
Technical FAQ: PL20-3A RFoG Optical Node
Q1: How does the digital control buttons benefit MDU deployments?
A: The PL20-3A rfog optical node replaces traditional potentiometers with digital control buttons. This prevents “setting drift” caused by temperature changes or vibrations and allows technicians to replicate exact gain and slope settings across multiple building levels, ensuring uniform signal quality for all tenants.
Q2: What is the noise performance of this rfog optical node?
A: With an Equivalent Noise Input (ENI) of <7 pA/√Hz and a high C/N ratio of 50dB, the PL20-3A maintains excellent signal-to-noise performance even at the high 1.2GHz frequencies required for DOCSIS 3.1. This is critical for maintaining high-order QAM modulations at the terminal end.
Q3: Can the return path laser be customized for CWDM?
A: Yes. While the standard upstream wavelength is 1610nm, as a specialized factory, Premlink can equip the rfog optical node with 1310nm or any CWDM wavelength (1270-1610nm). This allows operators to multiplex multiple RFoG nodes onto a single fiber using a CWDM Mux/Demux to save fiber resources.
